Who We Are

The Wisconsin Cannabinoid Industry Council (WCIC) is a trade association representing businesses, professionals, and stakeholders across Wisconsin’s cannabinoid supply chain—from farmers and manufacturers to retailers and service providers.

We were formed to bring structure, credibility, and coordination to an industry that has grown rapidly but lacks clear, consistent regulation.

WCIC exists to ensure that policy decisions are informed by science, grounded in reality, and designed to protect both consumers and the businesses operating responsibly within the law.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: build a regulatory framework that works.

That means protecting consumers through safety standards and transparency, while also preserving Wisconsin jobs, supporting small businesses, and allowing innovation to continue responsibly.

We believe good policy doesn’t come from fear or politics—it comes from data, collaboration, and a clear understanding of how the industry actually operates.

What Makes WCIC Different

  • We advocate for policies grounded in evidence—not outdated perceptions or misinformation about cannabinoids.

  • We are building a fully transparent organization where members, regulators, and the public can see how decisions are made.

  • We represent the full ecosystem—not just one segment—ensuring balanced, realistic policy solutions.

How Decisions Get Made

WCIC is structured to ensure that decisions are not controlled by a single voice or agenda.

Our governance model prioritizes transparency, member input, and structured decision-making processes designed to reflect the industry as a whole.

  1. Member input and feedback

  2. Committee review and analysis

  3. Board-level discussion and alignment

  4. Public-facing positions and advocacy

This approach ensures that every position WCIC takes is deliberate, defensible, and aligned with real-world industry impact.

Governance & Standards

WCIC is committed to building long-term credibility through clear standards and accountable leadership.

We are actively developing internal policies around ethics, transparency, and industry best practices to ensure that our organization reflects the same level of responsibility we advocate for in regulation.

As the industry evolves, WCIC will continue to refine its standards to meet the expectations of regulators, consumers, and member businesses alike.
